01How do I download a mod?

  • Press the download button on the mod page. You need to be signed in.
  • The file usually lives on the creator's own site. The button shows a notice and sends you there; follow the creator's steps on that site.
  • Read the description and version info on the mod page before downloading.

02Installing (by game)

Every mod page has an install guide for its game at the bottom. In short:

  • BeamNG.drive: copy the .zip WITHOUT extracting it to Documents\BeamNG.drive\mods.
  • Euro Truck Simulator 2 / ATS: put the .scs in Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\mod and enable it in the Mod Manager.
  • Farming Simulator: copy the .zip WITHOUT extracting it to Documents\My Games\FarmingSimulator2025\mods (change the year for FS22 / FS19).
  • Assetto Corsa: with Content Manager open, drag and drop the .zip. Manual installs: cars go to content\cars, tracks to content\tracks.
  • GTA V: install what the mod asks for first (ScriptHookV, OpenIV…). Never enter GTA Online with a modded game; your account can be banned.

The creator's own instructions always take priority.

03The mod doesn't work

  • Check the version: the mod page lists the game versions it supports. After a game update a mod can break until it is updated; check the version history and changelog.
  • Look for requirements: many mods need another mod or add-on (ScriptHookV, a map, a base pack). They are listed in the description.
  • Wrong location: most games want the .zip left packed. Extracted folders may not load.
  • Conflicts: two mods changing the same thing don't mix; disable one and retest.
  • Read the game log: beamng.log (BeamNG) or game.log.txt (ETS2) shows the cause. Pasting that line in a comment helps the creator fix it fast.
  • Still stuck? Comment on the mod page; the creator and other players usually answer.

04Is the file safe?

  • Files uploaded to ModsPoint go through a security check on upload, but never run a download blindly.
  • Mods are normally .zip, .scs, .jbeam, .dae and similar. Be careful if a mod asks you to run an .exe; mods that need no installer are much safer.
  • Keep antivirus on, and report anything suspicious with the flag icon on the mod page.

05Account and sign-in problems

  • Forgot password: use “Forgot your password?” on the sign-in page to get a reset link by email.
  • No verification email: check spam; use “Resend” in the banner at the top. If you typed the wrong address, change it in account settings.
  • Can't comment, post or message: these need a verified email.
  • Account security: you can turn on optional two-step verification on the Security page. Don't reuse your password on other sites.
  • Delete my account: write via the contact form; your profile, posts and messages are permanently erased.

06Becoming a creator and uploading

  • To upload you must be a verified creator. The application asks for a profile photo, name, short bio and links showing your work (YouTube, your mod site, Instagram, TikTok…). No code or document is needed.
  • Upload only mods you made yourself or have permission to publish. Stolen content is removed and repeat offenders lose their account.
  • Every mod is approved by an admin; track its status under “My mods”. If rejected, the reason is shown and you can fix and resubmit.
  • When you release an update, add a new version and changelog and select the game version.
  • You can keep the file on your own site and send people there from ModsPoint, or upload it directly.

07Advertising and showcase

Homepage ad slots are open to verified creators only. See Advertise for prices, durations and how to apply. You follow your request and our replies in the “Advertise” panel.

08Reporting and blocking

  • Use the flag icon on a mod, comment, post or user to report stolen mods, harmful files or abuse.
  • Rights holders: the formal process is on the copyright page.
  • Block someone from their profile; a blocked person can't message or follow you.

09Profile, lists and notifications

  • Edit your profile from the menu at the top right: cover, photo, bio and links.
  • Save mods you like into lists; make a list public and share its link (people who open it can't change it).
  • New mods and posts from creators you follow arrive as bell notifications.
  • Every week each game has a community vote: cast yours on Weekly Best.
